Job Description

The Sourcing Manager drives our independent food economy by nurturing relationships with producers and leading a high-performing buying team.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the buying team; create a high-productivity, low-friction environment.
  • Develop and hit clear KPIs (ie margins, in-stock rate, shrink, etc.).
  • Own SKU setup and lifecycle in Harvie store, coordinating promos and new-item launches
  • Generates and implements efficient sourcing and category management strategies
  • Build and execute sourcing & category strategies that balance profit and member delight.
  • Scout and onboard new suppliers/products that fit our assortment guidelines
  • Review suppliers regularly and cut ties when quality, pricing, or values slip
  • Analyze landed costs and set retail prices within our margin targets
  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with suppliers
  • Assesses the need for new team members, engages in the hiring process, and develops and maintains an effective training plan

Requirements:

  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and give clear direction
  • Advanced ability to communicate, collaborate, and negotiate
  • Fluent with technology, comfortable stitching systems together 

Important Details

  • Compensation: $72,387 – $85,120

Now Hiring: Independent Delivery Contractors – Use Your Own Vehicle!

About the Opportunity

We are looking for independent contractors to assist with delivering locally sourced food products to customers using their own vehicle. This is a flexible, at-will opportunity where you can accept delivery shifts as they become available.

As a delivery contractor, you will pick up pre-packaged Harvie boxes from our Pittsburgh location and deliver them to customers in the greater Pittsburgh area.

Responsibilities:

  • Pick up boxes from our centrally-located Lawrenceville warehouse and deliver to Harvie members’ homes.
  • Follow an efficient route using our Route4Me app (easily downloadable to your phone).
  • Provide proof of delivery through the app for customer tracking.
  • Provide excellent customer service.

Important Details:

  • Independent Contractor Position (1099)
  • Paid per route (earnings vary per route – estimated $30-35/hour)
  • Flexible scheduling – accept shifts as they become available
  • Deliveries take place during the day, estimated 3-4 hour routes with the option to take multiple routes per day
  • Priority given to drivers with SUVs or minivans (but sedans will be considered)
  • Paid weekly

Requirements:

  • Must have a reliable vehicle (Minivans & SUVs preferred)
  • Must have a valid PA driver’s license and proof of insurance
  • Must be comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs. if needed
  • Must have a smartphone to use the Route4Me app for navigation and delivery tracking
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional

Harvie is a local foods home delivery service based in Pittsburgh, PA. Founded in 2020 with a mission to make it as simple as possible for families to have access to local foods, Harvie is a full grocery model that emphasizes customization and convenience.

Harvie Kitchen is a department within Harvie focusing on minimizing food waste through prepared meals, bakery items, cut fruit and vegetables, and more! Each week the Harvie Kitchen crew works together in our shared kitchen space to prepare food to be sold online through Harvie.

About the Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated individual to join our team. As a Kitchen Team Member, you will primarily focus on prepping and packing meal kits at our Lawrenceville distribution center.

Responsibilities:

  • Pack meal kits accurately and efficiently according to member orders.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe environment, following all food safety policies.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and kitchen staff to optimize operations and resolve issues.
  • Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) practices for inventory management.
  • Regularly clean and sanitize the work area to maintain a safe and hygienic workspace.
  • Learn and use Harvie’s systems for communication, production planning, and managing finished goods.
  • Receive and stock meal kit ingredients. Inspect products for damage, flaws, and irregularities.

  • Full-time position
  • Compensation starts at $17/hour
