Long-awaited spring produce is finally here, and our team couldn’t be more excited.
Rhubarb from Clarion River Organics, the first radishes of the season from Blue Goose Farm and Sunny Harvest Farms, and the subtle spring favorite: Organic green garlic from Lancaster Farm Fresh.
Plus: asparagus from Fifer Orchards, and even sustainably harvested ramps from Yarnick’s Farm.
Each winter, as the fields shut down, our team digs deeper into the task of building the independent food economy – how do we build a transparent food system based on small, independent producers even outside of our region? (Like this fun radicchio sourced from an independent farm in California). But when spring comes, sourcing really good, independent food is like a gold mine. Our region has so much to offer and to celebrate. Each week, we get to rediscover that together.
