Farm Happenings for June 26, 2021

Posted on June 23rd, 2021 by Nicole Prins

Crop Failure alert! Our strawberries are not looking great. They've been attacked by a few critters this year, including the gypsy moth. Our strawberries are sprayed with absolutely nothing, and this record dry May did not help the strawberries along as well. This is why we are a diversified farm. We take this crop failure and move our focus to the next crop and hope for a better strawberry year next year.

Field crops that are looking amazing include tomatoes and salad!!

Farm happenings this week include weeding weeding weeding! Along with seeding our fall crop of broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and lettuce. Oh and the constant irrigating! Which is crazy this early in the season. The weather forecast is calling for a few days of rain, so hopefully we get some!
