Tomato season is underway! YEAHH! Cherry tomatoes will start to make a regular appearance in your bags, along with BEANS!! Two crops that love the heat! We are just having to water, water, water! Our farm missed out on all of the thundershowers this weekend. We caught a tail end of one storm, getting 3mil so just enough to get your shirt wet. So everyone please get out there and do the rain dance for us!
We will be short on lettuce for a few weeks, a crop that does not like this heat and thrives on lots of water, which we have been lacking! But we now have the SWEET HEART CABBAGE!! It's our favourite summer time cabbage because is so sweet raw, or cut it in half and grill it!
Also, make sure to roast our BEETS on the BBQ, they are so amazingly sweet! And eat the beet greens too! A quick sauté with shallots and you have another meal.
