Triple bottom line

Posted on July 16th, 2021 by Shelli and Paul Meulemans

July 16 today! Where’s the summer going? What’s done is done! The summer crops that are in is what we have, there is no time remaining to put in more, in fact even the cool weather fall vegetables will transplanted outside this next week. Lots of good crops to come!

This week we are featuring more delicious transitional organically grown blueberries available as add-on items. We have been really enjoying these! Get ‘em by the pint or by the 10# box you really can’t go wrong! If you like supporting more small farms and transitioning more land to organic production this is one of those things that is a triple bottom line. A win win win. That’s triple!

Speaking of triple bottom line, I love this idea. We are are responsible for more than just making our business financially successful, but also for our ecological and social footprint. Yes, we are small but if we all work together we can make a social and ecological impact for the betterment of us all. By spending your food dollar through us you are empowering us to be able to put more land into organic production, sequester more carbon, offer more beneficial habitat and provide more good food for people who need it! Thanks!

One more thing. Do you buy flowers every so often? Well, we all love fresh flowers, but they do come with a heavy ecological footprint. Laden with pesticides, they are not regulated as food, and yet we bring them into our houses and they sit on our tables where they likely drop pollen and petals right where we eat. They are often shipped over very long distances and have a short life, when we toss them in the trash and then head out to the landfill... not trying to guilt you, but you can grab a bouquet for delivery with your box! You could always get two and give one as a gift too. They are really coming in nice this summer, we grow them and they are always certified Organic!

Please remember to return you box. And contact us with any concerns. Thanks!
