1st CSA on the way!

Sometimes things on the farm don’t go quite as smoothly as we plan, but the days keep marching on by! As many of you know, it’s only been a couple weeks since we had a serious cold snap. It got cold enough that it tricked quite allot of our baby plants into thinking that winter time was already here! Did any of you feel that way when it was 26 degrees in May? Anyhow, when that happens, many vegetable plants put up a flower stalk in order to hopefully reproduce before the real cold sets in. Oh well! They must die for making such a poor choice! And you all have to wait a touch longer to enjoy some of these outdoor baby greens and Asian greens. But a box of food is still headed your way! Don’t worry, the first boxes are always a bit light. They get much better!

In other news, our goats got in a bit of a tussle this week... We have two male goats on the farm that we keep fenced on pasture with our chickens, and they spent a few days keeping quite a distance from each other. But the good news is that they are friends again! Their names are Shredder and Ted. I guess when you’re fenced in with someone, you must eventually figure out how to get along!

Thank you to each CSA member. Especially in the year of COVID, our farm couldn’t operate without you. We enjoy providing top of the line food to our friends and neighbors. Thanks again!
