Farm Happennings For December 21, 2019

Posted on December 15th, 2019 by Jack Manix

Looks like another roller coaster week for the temperatures as the 40 degrees we had on Sunday will go down to a high of 16 on Thursday! Luckily we get to pick inside greenhouses where the temperature can get to 70 degrees if the sun is shining! Some of our greenhouses require no heat to protect the crops but we put a special covering over them to keep in the ground heat. In others we set the thermostat to 30 degrees on those really cold nights just to play it safe.

One thing we take very seriously is the safety of the produce we raise for you. That's why we are members of the Vermont Community Accreditation for Food Safety and have our Best Practices for Food Safety Certificate updated annually. We want to make sure your family receives the best quality and safest Certified Organic produce.

This week we have another great selection for your holiday table. The specialty item will be Walker Farm frozen organic strawberries. Get ready for some great smoothies!

Remember, if you are unable to pick up on Saturday just give us a call at 802.254.2476 to schedule a pickup for Sunday or Monday between noon and 1 PM if possible. We're happy to make sure the CSA works for you! Thanks again for another smooth pickup day and see you next Saturday.
