Farm Happenings for December 14, 2019

Posted on December 8th, 2019 by Jack Manix

Hope things went well for you on Week One of the CSA! Thanks so much for making it run smoothly on our end. Now you are seasoned professionals and can work on fine tuning your preferences, swaps and extra purchases. Remember we are here and the Harvie help desk is here to assist you with any questions.

Check out the new availabilities this week as we mix up the menu a bit. Unfortunately we have a lot of our spinach under 18" of snow but we do have some nice plantings in the greenhouses. Maybe the warm rains on Monday will help melt the snow so the spinach will resurface! This week's specialty item is a frozen Pesto Mix with Walker Farm organic basil and parsley by our in-house chef Abby Galloway! Even after a 0 degree temperature Saturday night all crops in storage and the greenhouses are safe and waiting for you!

Some folks wanted their share boxed and ready to go but some like to pick out their items so whatever you choose we aim to please. If you are unable to pick up on Saturday, let us know if you can pick up Sunday or Monday between noon and 1 PM so we'll have someone around to assist you. Breaking News! - We're opening up another lot for Cut-Your-Own Christmas trees at out Elysian Hills Tree Farm on Tuesday, closed Monday due to rain. If you haven't had a chance to visit yet better hurry as we're getting short of trees. Thanks again, see you next Saturday.
