Farm Happenings for July 6, 20

Posted on July 3rd, 2021 by Ryan Thompson

Good afternoon everyone,

This week has been a long week here!!  We had 3 of our workers gone this week, but we were able to manage between picking, watering, weeding, watering, planting and have I said watering yet!!  Looking at the month of June we have seen only .6 in of rain here.  Couple of the fields, my watering hole is getting really low so hopefully we can get some rain soon.  This is the only year I have had to water squash and the pumpkins, it’s dry. That’s enough complaining about the rain issue now.

We are able to switch up a few things for the boxes this week to give a little bit of variety. I hope everyone enjoyed the strawberries the last two weeks, what a treat to be able to have fresh ripe berries. Sad to see the season end for them.  We are looking to be 2 weeks out for sweet corn, potatoes, cucumbers & possibly even tomatoes
