Farm Happenings for July 30, 2018

Posted on July 27th, 2018 by Sean Pilger

Greetings from Farmer Sean!

We don't plant a lot of corn at HOG, because it takes up a lot of space and is very susceptible to pests, but we are excited to announce that our sweet corn crop is ready to harvest!  If you are squeamish about the little caterpillars that may be munching on the tips of your ear of corn, just chop off the first inch or so of tip before you shuck, and remember, the caterpillars are there because our corn is free of any pesticides!  And eat your corn right away to ensure the maximum sweetness!

We hope to have enough to last for two weeks of CSA shares, as well as a good amount for the corn shucking contest at our 2nd annual Shuck You BBQ!

We hope you can come, everyone who was there last year had a blast, and we are excited to have the same great crew providing awesome food, music, and fun
