A New Crop!

Posted on August 21st, 2023 by Ashley Thompson

First, it has recently been brought to my attention that the formatting is not working properly here for any hyperlinks that I add to get to shared recipes.  I am so disappointed and sorry about this, they look fine on my end, but look like normal text on yours so you have no idea where to click!  For now, until this gets sorted out, I'll bold and underline links so that it's clear where the link is. Last week I shared recipes for my favorite zucchini fritters,  a great summer squash casserole, and an easy way to freeze basil, in case you were looking for them.  If there are any other recipes you couldn't find, please let me know and I'll help you out.

For this week, harvest season continues (despite the unfortunate smoke).  We have so much food right now!

We have a brand new crop to share with you, which we are so thrilled with.  Romano Beans were rumored to be both tasty and productive, and they are both!  This weekend I sauteed them in butter with some garlic salt and it was the best easy side.  Here's a similar recipe to get you started.  They're so tender and easy to prepare, sure to be a hit with chefs and eaters alike! We're also continuing with more peppers as the floodgates have opened, as well as sweet strawberries!

In addition we've got bulk pickling cucumbers available in 5lb bags for $15, and even some (fresh) dill to go with them.  Grab a bag and knock out a pickling project.

Your farmers {anxiously awaiting a break from harvest, and maybe less smoke},
