October is here and the Sol Sister 2020 CSA is in its home stretch. There was some uncertainty in this endeavor when we started back in March after shelter in place orders went out. Although I’ve done at least 10 CSAs before, I had never done one in the desert and certainly not on only 1/3 of an acre. On paper it all made sense and now with crop forecasting for the final month it seems that we’ve got proof of concept that the small scale intensive veggie CSAs do work in the central valley.
Look out for Food Fix/Sol Sister pickles, radishes, and hakurei salad turnips as new additions to the boxes this week. I also just pulled a half dozen sugar baby watermelons out of the field this morning so first come first serve on those! Enjoy your week everybody
