The Third Week of the Fall CSA Program

Posted on October 5th, 2019 by Tadd Petersen

After one crazy heat wave, the weather is finally starting to feel like Fall.  This week's harvest is full of variety and offers a delicious taste of what can be grown in our region this time of year.  For your CSA share this week, you will see there are some varieties that thrive in the heat such as sweet peppers that we planted late in the season and are just now ready for harvest. You will also see that there are heartier varieties that can withstand the cooler temperatures such as squash and potatoes.  Our team spends the winter months strategically planning what varieties we will plant in our fields so we can continue to provide both quality and variety as the temperatures changes.  This also allows our community to experience what it means to eat seasonally and we are excited to harvest and share all these fresh ingredients with you.

We want to know what you think!  Let us know what delicious dishes you made this week using your CSA ingredients.  Make sure to tag us on Facebook or Instagram so we can share with the rest of our CSA community.

Thanks!
