Happy Thanksgiving Week

Posted on November 19th, 2021 by Lynne Schultz

Happy Thanksgiving week to all of our Farm Family,

I hope everyone has a safe week as we prepare for the holidays. We are planning out our menu for Turkey day. What are some of your of  favorite foods that you have every year with your family?  Some items that we have are roasted squash and Brussel sprouts. Josh has to have his mothers dressing. I have to make butter dips which are a roll using my grandma's recipes. Many of the things that I make this time of year including pies come from the recipes and the time I spent in the kitchen with my grandma. She was a great baker and cook and I am so luckily I got to learn from her. I am now teaching my kids the same recipes that my grandma taught me. Something I want to makes sure all my kids know how to bake and cook. While I am in the kitchen out in the produce fields picking , Josh is trying to finsh up field crop harvest and butchering turkeys for this weeks orders, and cleaning up around the farm for winter.

Also this week is a lot of firewood cutting as the cold is coming in for the season. That means wood stoves are getting ready to get turn on for the season. Also the kids are getting ready to put up and turn on the Christmas lights for the season. I hope everyone has a great Turkey week,
