Farm Happenings for December 15, 2020

Posted on December 12th, 2020 by Lynne Schultz

Greetings from the farm,

Here is starting to look alot like Christmas. We went this week and cut down our tree. The kids decorated it and they put up lights all over the place. Our house looks like a busy city strip with all the neon lights coming out of every room. Although Josh and I are little bit behind on Christmas shopping put that is ok. Our kids are funny they don't want normal toys like many kids. They want things like microscopes to study things that are soil and water. They want a drone and metal detectors so they can go on treasure hunts. And last they want to a video camera so they record themselves on the adventures on the farm and create a Youtube channel so everyone one can watch what is going. We have to love our kids thoughts and creative of what they want to do.

On the farm side we are already looking into 2021. Plans are starting to take shape. Seed will start to get order this week. And believe it or not planting for 2021 will start right after Christmas. We did start a little experiementing in the basement this week. If you don't know our son Michael loves engeriering and water so we built a hydroponic system for him. So we started seeds this week and see where this takes us. If it does well we will expand on it over the next few year. Also building of the new livestock building is almost done. Josh is finshing up the gates and has few other small projects to finsh before the cattle can move in. So we busy right now trying to finsh up projects before the new year.

We hope everyone stays safe and have a great week,

The Schultz
