Week 8

Posted on July 3rd, 2020 by Lynne Schultz

Greetings from the farm,

We hope everyone is keeping cool during this hot spell. We have been trying to keep cool too. We have been picking in the morning and evenings when it has bee cooler. We also have been irrigating to keep things growing. We are or did take the Saturday afternoon and evening off to celebrate the 4th.

Tomatoes this week you might see a a yellow one with your basket. We can't guarantee that you get one but we are starting to get some yellow tomatoes out of the high tunnel.  Also we dug our first potatoes of the season. Fruit this week will be peaches and blueberries. Some you might get a strawberry in your bag. Blackberries are starting to to turn so you will see some in the next week our so. We do have a few extra 1/2 bushels of pickling cucumbers if anyone is interested in canning.

So of our quick meals that we do with produce right now are zucchini boats, pickles, tomato salad, and zucchini tater tots.
