Spring Lush

Posted on May 19th, 2021 by Pedro Aponte

We have been blessed with great weather and the crops are looking beautiful and healthy. We have been blessed with an awesome farm crew and we are staying on task. And we have been blessed with your trust and we are feeling inspired. Our 2021 season is off to a great start and we can't contain our excitement. We hope your boxes bring as much joy to your lives as growing the produce has brought to ours.

This week we have lots of greens for you to choose from. We are delighted to bring our salad mix (by far our most popular item at the Greene Farmers Market). This Salanova lettuce mix is crispy and sweet (my Dad loves it plain--no dressing). If you like a bit more of a bite, we will be offering our spring mix (80% Salanova mix,  20% Asian greens). Also for greens, we will have baby arugula. And this variety we are growing, Astro, has proven to grow exceptionally well in our climate. For stir-fry lovers, or soup lovers, or crunchy vegetable lovers, or anyone, we have some beautiful and tasty bok choi. Just this past weekend we made a bok choi, hakurei turnips, and kohlrabi stir fry that turned out spectacular. And, guess what? we will have hakurei turnips and kohlrabi available this week, as well. And there is more. Make sure to check the swap/extra produce list. You are set for some nice meals in the next few days.
