Hens are moved! We pulled an all nighter and moved 3,500 laying hens! I was not sure how it would go but our plan worked great! Only sad thing is that I think I got a little pooh in my mouth! It's a dirty, tough job. BUT it is so much easier to do at night and doing it in the heat of the day will cause many hens to die.
These ladies will take a break from laying after the dramatic move but they'll get right back to it after about a week. Luckily our old flock is still laying very well.
