Farm Happenings for January 21, 2023

Posted on January 17th, 2023 by Jesse Tysinger

Hello Farm Friends!

I hope everyone enjoyed the rain as much as I did, a nice change of pace and the plants were singing. We spent the day out in the drizzle until the dry greenhouse got too tempting and we started to plant in there. Looking forward to the growth spurt we'll see in the next few days from it.

This week also brought us a new engine for one of our mainstay tools out here, a two-wheeled tractor called a BCS. I know, I know: not the most thrilling content, but I am very excited! It means I can start building some more permanent beds here on the farm which is great for our soils. It takes a lot more work upfront, but the benefits are more than worth it in the long run. They are easier beds to maintain, plant in, cover crop, and keep the under-the-surface ecosystem intact. All those come together to make healthier veggies and healthier lands, and that's what we're all about!

We hope y'all are enjoying your veggies, we are having a blast growing them. Wishing the best to all of you!
