Cuttin grass

Posted on July 26th, 2022 by Elizabeth Gallo

Although it's only Tuesday the theme of the week seems to be cutting grass. Trimming field edges, walkways and around fruit trees has been a constant in our day to day activities as we continue to get all of this blessed rain. Thankfully cutting grass means we get loads of material to mulch with! The plants love the mulch because it retains more moisture and the crew loves the mulch because it means less weeding. Everybody wins.

Thanks to the rain we have a whole heap more of zucchini available as well as the first round of starfruit and lots more greens. The mangoes in our orchard are ever so slowly reaching maturity so eventually we will have our usual summer quantity...I hope you all are a bit more patient than we are.

If anyone is looking for some weekend plans, give us a shout and reserve your spot for Saturday's Slow Down dinner. We are doing an Asian-inspired menu featuring some farm fresh ginger, greens and other goodies. If you can't make it this weekend we have our next dinner August 13 so make sure to stop by!

Have a great rest of your week and we look forward to seeing you this weekend
