Bring on the Green(s)

Happy Tuesday and happy last week of the 2021 Mini Season! Thank you all for participating, it's been really great meeting new faces and catching up with previous members at the drop offs at both Leatherback and LLG and we hope that everyone has been enjoying their boxes. Even though this has been a quick season we've enjoyed giving you fresh produce every week!

This week we have some new things available to end the season with. We have a few hands of plantain as well as some half pound bags of ackee. We still have plenty scotch bonnet peppers and will be making more hot sauce this week with those as well. If you're up for the spice, this sauce is really nice and made with produce from the farm such as pineapple, hot peppers, and ripe papaya. We also have a banana zucchini bread available this week. Due to the rains we've been getting, some of our banana trees have fallen down prematurely so we have lots of ripe bananas lying around and what better way to use them than making quick bread? If you need more inspiration with how to use the produce you get in your box each week, come join us for our Slow Down Dinners this month. We have a dinner this coming Saturday the 18th and one Thursday the 30th. To RSVP email csa@ridge2reef.org!

Our next season begins in three short weeks and we've got lots in store. Pictured above is our zucchini crop that's ready to start producing just in time for the new season. We also have lots of greens coming in, a crop of watermelon, broccoli and cucumber just to name a few. If you have any questions about the next season please reach out to us, we look forward to growing your fruits and veggies for another season!

All the best,

Elizabeth and the Farm Crew
