Plenty to share! Take your pick.

We have a huge inventory this week of 17 items so you can easily customize your favorite Farm Share box this week! There are also many available extra shares for those members in the Farm Stand who can get while the gettin's good. Seasonal members will get first picks based on set account preferences, and you can swap to your kitchen's delight.

Our tomatoes were timed more perfectly than planned, now offering a hefty load of extremely tasty slicers! They are grown, like our various lettuce types (and soon to be carrots), with a research project with the Southern Sustainable Research and Education (SARE) producer grant through the Virgin Islands Farmers Alliance (VIFA). Together with 4 farms, we are testing the best types of lettuce, tomatoes, watermelons, carrots, and cucumbers for our markets, especially for the Farm to School program in which we all participate. Let us know what you think about the results!

Our greens such as mustards, kale, and lettuce are crisp and amazing and won't last too many more weeks due to a recently detected aphid presence. Fortunately, the native ladybugs have appeared, who love to feast on aphids so please root them on to protect our beautiful leaves -we'll need all the help we can get:) Cheers to farm crew members Brennan and Demitirous who have been spraying them diligiently with organic approved applications, and to the other team members who rallied by flashlight on Friday night to remove occupied plants as soon as the pest was detected. Let's enjoy them while they last!

Fennel is starting to come on strong and bulbing nicely. Have you ever cooked it as a vegetable? It's amazing.  Chop it up and add it to your stir fry  -you won't be sorry.

Pole beans are making an appearance this week with a stringless pod that might be better eaten raw than cooked as they are so sweet and crunchy on their own.  The turnips are getting huge yet are still as delicate as ever and the radishes are plump and mildly spicy.

There are also many extra goat cheeses and eggs this week in the dairy department. Please feel free to add these on to your produce share and support our farmer friends. Tropics hydroponics also has some cucumbers in the mix so you can get your salad game down completely on lock this week.

For more, please check out our Farm Tienda this week as there will be extra everything and tasty treats from Misfit Island Munchies. The stand is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 11-3:)

And remember, TELL A FRIEND about our farm shares, as we have more food than you can shake a stick at and we would love to share more.

Thank you all for supporting local organic produce and our partners in Community Supported Agriculture,

Nate & the Farm Crew
