Blessings of rain & teamwork: Introducing new multi-farm options

Posted on April 29th, 2020 by Nate Olive

Blessed be the rains. During this recent dry & dusty streak, we took in some healthy rain yesterday. It's been perfect for our sets of young crops and seedlings to come in the summer farm share season. The tiny mango fruits are filling fast. More pineapples blushed and the arugla is popping. Tomato plants are leaning heavy on bamboo posts. Passion fruit are as big as baseballs. We are planting up all we can in anticipation of more demand than ever. Drums are blessing the little crops in the fields... (take note, deer)

This week we are trying something new for this pop-up farm stand to meet the growing demand for locally produced food, especially as food shortages are expected in the COVID situation. We are opening up our weekly offerings to include items from select farms.  So, in addition to our own USDA certified organic produce we are pleased to introduce a couple of crops and additional eggs from our partner farms in the Virgin Islands Farmers Alliance (VIFA).

Rodgers Farm and New Breed Farm will be providing delicious collards and cucumbers as a part of this week's farm box swap options. We are also featuring local eggs fom Cox Farm in the crop box options. Remember, if you only want organic crops in your box, please use the swap feature as each non-organic item is labeled appropriately for full transparency. The choice is yours.

Also, at our Little LaGrange location on Saturday there will be extra crop options, herb bread loaves, and some prepared farm food to take home including tamales, cubano eggrolls, and jerked jackfruit wraps and sandwiches. We hope you enjoy your share to it's fullest:)
