Springing into April

Posted on April 5th, 2024 by Lisa Duff

I LOVE April! Don't you?

It says we've turned the corner (or almost) and warmer weather, longer days and more fresh food is coming!

We are celebrating spring with daffodils, hyacinths, blossoms on the fruit trees and RAIN.

We've been planting carrots, lettuce, cabbage, kohlrabi, onions, kale, chard, broccoli, mini broccoli, bok choi, purple potatoes OH MY!

We're harvesting more carrots, cilantro, spinach, lettuce, 2 types of kale and more. Get kale pesto this week from Garden Grown Chef and Farmer Lisa-you'll love it.

Join in on the Oak Spring FARMily Facebook page - a members-only group that enables us to share recipes, storage tips and fun information about the farm life.

Say hello if you're new.

Let's spark some good conversations as we strive to up-level our veggie game.

Check out my roasted carrot recipe on the website here.

STORAGE TIPs-OF-THE-WEEK -

Separate the greens from the roots when storing carrots, beets, radishes, turnips, and pop them in a plastic bag to maximize shelf life.
