CSA share for December 14, 2021

Posted on December 8th, 2021 by Lisa Duff

Hello Farm-ily!

Take advantage of this CSA in December opportunity to stock up on local meats, eggs, cheese and of course fresh produce!  We have plenty of eggs! Stock up for your homemade eggnog, deviled eggs, big holiday breakfasts and simple weeknight quiches (check out our family recipe below!). Tis the season!

For the first time ever we are offering Butcher Boxes and the biggest variety of individually packaged meats yet.

Stock up for the Holidays and simplify your local shopping errands.

The sweet potatoes we have left are orange Beauregard and BIG. Most weigh 2-3# each.

All the beef is from Shady Spring Farm just a couple of miles away. The Seitz family is rigorous with about their high animal welfare from birth to butcher. It is 100% grass fed and finished, the healthiest beef money can buy and it is in limited supply.

The pastured pork is from Ferguson Family Farm. Delicious chemical free, naturally smoked and cured pork, Lynne is a huge proponent of pastured meats and humane butchering.

The chicken is pastured raised from Oak Spring.

Anyone can participate in this CSA share. It is a stand alone share. pass it on to interested friends and family who are interested in Oak Spring farm and eating locally!

Storage tip: garlic. Buy in bulk. I peel and pulverize several heads of garlic at a time and store in a small glass jar covered in olive oil. I have kept it in the fridge for over a month. Take it out and use a spoonful at a time. I put garlic in everything and with it's super antioxidant benefits who can't use an extra daily spoonful of garlic. And remember our Certified Organic garlic, summer harvested, hyper local garlic is unmatched to garlic from the grocery store (most of it comes from China where they have very low regulations-research it!)
