Good Afternoon Everyone!
We have two exciting announcements to make this week for all of our customers, past and present.
Firstly we have decided to step back from market gardening for a year. This was a tough decision, as Marcus has been growing veg and market gardening for just shy of a decade. We have found that growing vegetables, while rewarding, has left us strained on the farm for time to expand our livestock endeavours. We have also struggled to find time to spend with the kids during the summer as the workload of the gardens, pastures, cattle, chickens, and events pile on. So for 2020 we will be suspending out vegetable harvest share program. This is not a sad thing, but a great opportunity for us to really focus on our livestock operations.
But fear not, our gardens will still be in use! We are going to be working with our good friend Daniel Chappel (Country Thyme Farm) who has agreed to take over our gardens. This will be a fantastic fit, as he is even more obsessed with soil health than we are and brings a decade and a half of farming experience to the task. Look to hear more about this in the coming weeks as he sorts out his crop plans. For sure you will be able to get his produce at our farm store, as extras with your egg share, and at our farmer's market tables.
Our second announcement is that we are sitting on a huge mountain of eggs after the holidays. Our ladies blessed us with abundance, so we are passing that abundance on to you our customers. If you have friends, neighbours, or family that you feel would be interested in trying a dozen of our eggs email or text us and we will get you between one and three dozen eggs for free to pass on. There is no cost to you our customers other than the time it takes to pass the eggs on to someone you know.
