Pandemic Restrictions Lifting & Delivery Changes
We are happy to see that Alberta is cautiously lifting restrictions around Covid-19, and easing back into normal life. As such we will be returning to drop site pickups starting the first week of June. Please pay close attention to your emails from us over the next week as we will have full details on drop site locations, times, and durations. We are keeping them fast, and will have to follow all Alberta Health Services guidelines on social distancing.
Pick-up will happen on the same day as deliveries have been happening for you.
For those wishing to continue with home delivery we are happy to do so. Home delivery, as of June, will come with a $3 fee. This fee covers the price of gas and maintenance on our truck, and our time doing deliveries. We will waive the delivery fee for anyone under mandatory isolation during the pandemic.
Egg Subscriptions (CSA)
We are still sold out for our weekly egg CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). We do have extra eggs each week, so if you have friends or family who want eggs or neighbours you can pick them up some with your order. They can also sign up for our Farm Stand program and waiting list and get eggs periodically when we post up extras on Sunday and Monday.
All Farm Stand orders need to be in by Monday at 11:30 pm. We have such a narrow window because demand is high, and supplies are limited.
Duck Egg Share
We are happy to announce you can now subscribe to weekly eggs from our small flock of Pekin ducks. These lovely birds are a new addition to our farm, and are teaching us a lot about the differences between ducks and chickens! They lay lovely large eggs (about 30% bigger than our hens) which are great for cooking with. They have a different texture and flavour to chicken eggs, and behave differently in baking, but they are a delightful treat.
We have very limited space, 10 spots only, as our flock is small and we are still learning what is best for consistent laying.
You can sign up for, or add, a half dozen eggs per week. The cost is $5/half dozen per week. Deliveries will start with our summer egg season at the beginning of July. You will find this listed on our Add-Ons section. If you wish to get only duck eggs please contact us directly and we can make arrangements.
Automatic Renewals
Just a reminder that our subscription members will automatically renew onto the summer egg program at the beginning of July. You will get a series of notices about this happening, and your credit card will be billed automatically.
