We are getting really close to having an abundance of eggs once more. Our new (and much larger) laying flock is starting to show signs of getting ready to lay. They are moody like teenagers, their combs and wattles are growing and going red, and they are making the laying song at various times of the day. To get ready we have ordered a mountain of egg cartons and new egg labels.
Look to see our egg shares open up in the coming weeks. Also, if you want to keep the eggs going all year long we are doing an egg CSA for the winter months with pickup on farm and in Silver Springs (NW Calgary). If we get enough interest we can open up pickup locations elsewhere too.
The rain has stopped for now, and the sun is shining, so I better get back to weeding!
