Farm Happenings for July 20, 2021

Posted on July 17th, 2021 by Brad Gritt

Good Afternoon Farm Family,

Its always exciting when new things are happening at the farm. Last weekend we hosted a picnic event that included picking flowers in our u-cut flower field. This weekend and next we are hosting just u-pick flowers. Flowers is something that has always been a big part of what we do at the farm and having a u-cut field has been on my radar for a few years. We finally pulled the trigger and planted some this year. The improvement thoughts are already spinning in my mind but we are happy with how they turned out so far. If interested in coming and picking flowers, check out our website for more information.

New this week produce wise we are starting to pick cantaloupe and bell peppers. The cantaloupe are delicious. Personally, I like watermelon but am a huge fan of cantaloupe.

Black Oak Holler was finally able to get some more pork processed so we have a full line of pork products to offer this week.

Lastly, I know a few of you have had some issues with missing product in your shares. We will be reviewing and implementing new measures this week to work on correcting it. I personally apologize for this misses and promise we are working to fix those issues in house to make your experience better.

I hope everyone has a great week. Weather forecast looks a little cooler for the next few days so that's exciting for some of us that can look outside on a hot day and start sweating.

As always reach out if you need anything.
