Farm Happenings for April 21, 2020

Posted on April 18th, 2020 by Brad Gritt

Good Evening Farm Family,

We have finally reached the beginning of the spring season! We are so excited to get back to providing your families with fresh veggies. We have lots of produce growing in our greenhouses and have already started planting lots of crops in our fields in Leon. Strawberries are blooming and have been covered up during this cold spell so we are hoping to have berries by early to mid May.

This weeks shares will include: kale, beets, turnips, edible flowers, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, green tomatoes for sure and hopefully some reds as well.

Things we are going to do differently for the shares during this is we will have all your produce pre bagged in a paper bag. We are not going to use the reusable red bags this year like we did in the past. If you would like to bring a bag to drop your paper bag down in, so that it is easier to get home that would be great. Our plan is we will set your prebagged share on a table, step away, and then allow you to step up to pick the bag up. We are still on for all of locations for pickups. For those who pickup at Capitol Market, our booth this spring is located on the Purple Onion end of the market, on the left pavilion furthest from the building. You also may enter on the sohos end and drive down the back road of the market and do a curbside pickup.

If you have any questions or concerns about the shares this year, feel free to reach out to me by email.
