Farm Happenings Week of Sept 24, 2018

Posted on September 24th, 2018 by Sarah Rider

The rain and clouds are a familiar sight, along with the squishy boots and forever wet socks. Another great soup and stew kind of week...

The sweet potatoes are slowly coming out of the field in stages, and the cooler is gradually filling with winter storage crops like potatoes, beets, and butternut squash. Some of the fall crops of broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage will slowly make their appearance in the share. If not this week, then next.

A special shout out to Brittany and Emily who are the backbone of our harvest operations. This has been a challenging year for our farm labor situation and we are eternally grateful for these strong women and their infectiously positive spirits.
