Farm Happenings for March 3, 2022

Posted on February 28th, 2022 by Kelly Peters

Spring is almost here and the chickens and ducks are in full egg laying mode!!!

We feed our chickens a non-gmo, corn and soy free food and they also get lots of farm scraps!  They are pastured throughout the farm and get to feast on fresh grass, weeds, wild edibles, and bugs.

Our ducks usually only lay eggs in late winter into early summer.  Once it starts to get too hot they stop laying until the following season.  So now's the time to grab some eggs!!!

We have a self-service farm stand here at the farm.  You can pick up eggs from the glass front fridge anytime during day light hours.  We can take Venmo/CashApp or if you arrange with us ahead of time, we can also take check or cash.  The fridge is located under the white barn structure in the parking lot to the left after you enter the vineyard/farm.

We have sold out of our summer egg shares, but we still have Spring Egg shares available!  They start this Thursday and it goes until the end of April.  Available for pick up at the farm only.  We'll set aside your dozen in the farm fridge and you can pick it up on Thursdays.

Click here to sign up for a spring egg share: https://www.harvie.farm/farm/flat-tack-farm/signup

Our egg share members will get their own reusable egg carton that must be cleaned and returned each week.  This is helping us save resources and trees!  Please note that if an egg carton is not returned or is damaged a $5 deposit will be charged to purchase a new one.
