Farm Happenings for September 24, 2020

Posted on September 20th, 2020 by Chris Boop

Welcome to the farm!

We're so happy you've decided to support our local farm.  We wanted to address a few things before your first delivery later this week.  First, a little more about ourselves...As holistic farmers we work with nature! At Five Cardinals Farm we don't use any pesticides or chemicals on our crops or land. We encourage beneficial bugs at our farm to do their job and try our hardest not to intervene. You are getting beyond organic food grown lovingly from seed.  Our seeds are selected from organic suppliers right here in the USA.

What is a CSA?

CSA stands for community supported agriculture. It is a program that puts food from the farmer directly into your hands. People in the community can support a local small farm and receive fresh food throughout the year.  As a small scale holistic farm, we are subject to weather conditions.  If there is damage to the crops due to weather or other factors and we are unable to provide you with the high quality product we intended, you will receive a refund for any weeks missed.  We have made many improvements to our farm to protect against severe conditions but mother nature can't always be controlled.

What type of packaging do we use?

- We were very conscious of the environment when choosing our packaging. All of our packaging is either recyclable or compost-able. If you are unable to compost your packaging, you can give it back to us and we will compost it for you. :)

What is Harvie?

- We use Harvie to manage orders and accept payments.  If there is an issue with a payment or technical issue with your profile, you can contact Harvie directly and they'll be happy to help.

If you have any questions about our farm please feel free to contact us directly through email, on facebook or instagram.  We hope you enjoy this fall season and we look forward to meeting you soon!
