October Marching on and boxes are still FULL OF FALL!

Posted on October 14th, 2022 by Angela Bedient

Did you know that we have four different varieties of potatoes and 2 different varieties of onions available!?

Onions and potatoes are two of the most sprayed food crops around!?  So I personally am sooo relieved to be able to source them from growers I know, through the co-op!  For years I could not eat onion in any way, shape or form without having terrible stomach issues.  One day I tried a sweet onion (at that time from Bountiful Meadows Organic Farm) cooked in our favorite Lamb Shank recipe, and miraculously I was fine!  All miracles aside, I truly believe it is because the organic onions are free from toxic chemicals.  They are one of THE most absorbent veggies.  And on the positive side, they and potatoes are full of some of the best nutrients that our soils provide, because they tap down deep in the softest, finest, loamiest of soils to grow well and in turn mine all sorts of great minerals and nutrients!

We are still able to offer a white variety, red norlands, Yukon golds and russet potatoes as well as yellow onions great for storage and reds great for many recipes!

If you have storage we can supply you with some for the winter.  Remember, all of our products are Organic or organically grown with no herbicides or pesticides, so you can feel good knowing you're feeding the family clean, product that is bursting with fresh flavor and nutrients!  As always be sure to reach out if you have questions about bulk buying or product specifics!

This week we have all the great fall squashes still, along with turnips, rutabaga, leeks, and cauliflower!

We still have Swiss chard, kale, arugula, micro greens and spinach too, so don't miss out on getting your greens in! Salad is out for now, but hopefully back soon, growing under the cover of the high tunnels now!

Thanks so much for continuing to support our small, family farms and please let your friends know that we will continue to have lots of great veggies all fall and into the winter.
