Happy Independence Day! Celebrate FOOD FREEDOM when you know your growers!

Posted on June 29th, 2022 by Angela Bedient

We hope you are all gearing up for a beautiful first weekend of July and may have some great meals planned for celebrating Independence Day!  We have lots of new product, great for picnics and grilling and showing your guests the bounty of the Finger Lakes!  We welcome some sweet young carrots and perfect young green zucchinis this week along with some shelled peas that are ready to cook or freeze!  We continue to have some beautiful slicing tomatoes for your BLT sandwiches along with yellow string beans, Chinese and regular cabbage!

We thank you for choosing local, organic food grown by families you know and trust.  This weekend we all celebrate the freedom to grow our own food and sustain our growing families by doing so.  We hope that you will share with your friends and let them know that we are taking sign ups as we begin the Summer Shares next week!    If everyone refers just 3-4 families you will help us reach our goal for the PEAK SEASON of veggies.  We hope that all of you and everyone you share this with will see that by supporting and knowing your growers you will have a steady, dependable supply of quality food that is harvested fresh for you the day before you receive it.  We guarantee that all of the food offered to you is free of chemicals, herbicides, pesticides, antibiotics or growth hormones.  If you ever have any questions about practices or any of the farms or growers you can just ask!  Many of the growers also have farm stands that you can come visit.  And on Saturdays you can come to Star Cider 10AM-1PM (some of you do to pick up) and you can shop extras and get to know Daryl our co-op manager and sometimes other growers!

Thanks again and we hope you enjoy everything!
