Summer Shares Ending, Fall Shares BEGIN! Don't Forget to SIGN UP!

As Summer Shares come to an end....First of all, thank you!  Thank you for helping us thrive through another step in our first Harvie Box season! We appreciate everyone's feedback and consistent support!  Please be sure to let us know how you feel about the overall experience.  E-mail, call, text or visit!  Second, but no less important, please be sure to sign up for the Fall Shares!  We will continue to have an amazing offering of produce right through the fall and some new items like squash this week!  Let us know if you have questions.  Also let us know if you will be interested in a winter box option of stored veggies, baked goods, canned goods and meat!  

A Couple Recipes From Marie!

Coleslaw For Freezing

1 t. salt

1 med. head cabbage, grated

1 carrot, grated

1 green or red pepper, chopped

Mix salt and cabbage, let set 1 hour.

Dressing: 1 cup vinegar, 1/4 cup water, 1 tsp. whole mustard seed, 1 tsp celery seed, 4 cups sugar (or sub)

Mix dressing and boil 1 minute. Cool. Squeeze excess moisture out of cabbage. Add carrots, peppers and dressing. Put into containers and freeze.  Can be refrozen if needed!

Cherry Tomato Bites

24 Cherry Tomatoes

3 oz. cream cheese, softened

2 tablespoons mayonnaise

1/4 cup, finely chopped, peeled cucumber

1 tablespoon finely chopped green onion

2 teaspoons minced fresh dill

Cut a thin slice off the top of each tomoto.  Scoop out and discard the pulp.

Invert tomatoes onto a paper towel to drain.

In a small bowl, combine cream cheese and mayonnaise until smooth; stir in the cucumber, onion and dill.

Spoon into tomatoes. Refrigerate until serving.
