Posted on July 14th, 2021 by Angela Bedient

Thank you all for another great week and hello to all the new subscribers.  We hope you're finding ways to stay cool and dry.

This week you will see some new items like eggplant and string beans!  The boxes have been bountiful and beautiful.  We hope you are all enjoying everything!

So much has been happening on the farms! Read a note from Tim and Marie below!

Hello to you all from the clan at Bountiful Meadows Organic Farm!  This finds us all healthy and enjoying summer to the fullest.  On these warm days we spend a lot of time in the pond swimming.  We just dug our pond late last summer.  We use it for irrigating the produce.  This summer we don't need to irrigate as much with all the rain we are having.  This rain brings on the bounty of fresh veggies and to the children's disappointment, weeds!

Tim promised the boys, for each row of squash they weed, they get $15 which goes toward a router table that they want for their small wood working shop.  Those weeds got pulled in a short time.

The evening of July 13th, we had a very frightening experience, when a stray bolt of lightening hit our neighbor's transformer, causing the electric to go off.  Our three oldest children were outside doing various things and felt a shock of electricity!  One was even knocked down.  The oddest thing was, it wasn't even raining or thundering close by.  We felt thankful no-one was hurt, or even killed!  The electricity was off for 2 hours.  Two weeks ago we also had a storm causing some strong winds and hail.  We had some zucchini and some cucumbers that had some hail damage.  If anyone would like cabbage to make saurkraut let us know at 315.536.4502 or call Angela!
