Meet Joseph Fox of Green Ridge Acres

Posted on March 18th, 2021 by Angela Bedient

Hi! This is Joseph Fox from Green Ridge Acres.  My wife and I have seven children from ages 16 down to two!  We have 45 cows and 28 heifers.  We ship certified organic milk to Organic Valley.  We own 116 acres of land and rent another 13 acres from a neighbor.  All of our land is certified organic.

We look forward to providing certified organic vegetables to you.  We use regenerative farming methods to grow healthy, nutrient-dense food, while also protecting the soil from eroding and feeding the microbes in the soil!  We do not use synthetic fetilizer, hormones, pesticides or herbicides.  All of our crops are also Non-GMO.

Spring is just around the corner.  We plan to plant our first vegetables in the greenhouse this week.  We will be growing carrots, spinach and red beets in the greenhouse.  The spinach and red beets should be ready to harvest in 4-6 weeks and the carrots in 8-10 weeks!

Our dog Tootsie is spending more of her time outdoors since the weather is warmer.  She chases birds and cats in her spare time.  We have about 5 cats that help control our mice population on the farm.  They get fresh milk from our cows.  Our flock of 140 laying hens like being outside when the weather is nice.  Many of you have enjoyed the eggs from us already!

We are in the process of changing our name from Green Ridge Pastures to Green Ridge Acres to better represent what we are doing.  For now the eggs will say Green Ridge Pastures and the vegetables Green Ridge Acres.  Finger Lakes Farm Fresh is the handler name we will be selling through.  The plan for our families is that if we have enough demand for our vegetables we can continue to grow a coop of farmers to sell through Finger Lakes Farm Fresh to provide you with quality produce!  Bear with us as we learn the ins and outs of the trade.  Have a nice day!
