Fall Share Week 1
Our Fall share is an exciting time, as our greens thrive through the cooler months of the year. As in most years, we constantly shift our offerings and variety selections to grow things that make the most sense for our ease of operations on the farm, our soils and the ever changing climate. Each year presents new challenges to us; weather patterns aren't predictable and this year we've seen greater pest pressure in our Fall crops than in previous years. The temperature fluctuations and extended rain periods have definitely had an impact on the crops, as in most years, we are continually problem solving and adjusting our practices to meet our customer needs.
Things are shaping up nicely for our Fall CSA. We have lots of potatoes, garlic, onions, sweet potatoes and winter squash in storage to include into shares, and our cold tolerant greens in the fields are plenty. We look forward to supplying everyone over the next 5 weeks with all of the Fall bounty!
