D&V Organics CSA Week 15

One of the coolest things about the farming season is seeing the transitions of the fields through the various seasons and the different crops that we grow and all of their stages of development.  Fall is a great time of year because of the temperatures cooling off and providing a more hospitable work environment for all of the labor that's involved in what we do, but also because of the resurgence of all the fast growing greens and easier to manage weeds that tend to grow later in the season.  Unless you're on the farm every day or every week, sometimes it's difficult to see the progression of crops in the field.  For the newsletter picture we'll show you the progression of our first Fall greens and radish planting, from the same perspective over the course of several weeks.  We are getting excited for the comeback of our greens and salad stuff, which should be ready in a few short weeks from now!  In the meantime, we'll continue with our Summer crops, which will include a new melon planting maturing in the next couple of weeks (we hope), more cucumbers, zucchini, eggplant, okra, tomatoes and peppers.

Enjoy,

Derek & Vicky
