Farm Happenings for September 28, 2021

Posted on September 23rd, 2021 by Lindsey Visser

Did you see the sunset last night?  It was beautiful! It sure does feel like fall has arrived.  Looking forward to this upcoming season.

Just a reminder that now is the time to sign up for the winter CSA!  Here are a few details, including some location updates:

 - We are switching up the payment plan to try and simplify things.  When you sign up you will pay for the first week's box.  Then starting the second week your card will automatically be charged with each delivery.  Want to pay off the full balance?  No problem, just let me know and I will contact the Harvie team to take care of that for you.  This new payment plan is much easier to understand and will make placing shares on hold much easier.

- Every week and every other week shares are available.  The program will start the week of October 18 and go thru April.  Signing up for the every other week share?  Make sure to check your start dates!

- What will be be having available?  The shares will start out will all of your fall favorites like broccoli, brussel sprouts, fall squash, leek, cabbage, cranberries. tons of root veggies, apples and greens that we have growing in the greenhouse.  Then as we move into January and late winter there will be all of the root veggies like potatoes, beets, onions, carrots, parsnips, turnips, celery root & rutabagas.  We will continue to have salad greens, chard, collards, kale & microgreens grown in the greenhouse.  We will also include apples and dry beans.

 - Pick up locations:

  • Farm - Tuesday (3 - 6pm), Wednesday (9am - 6pm), Thursday (9a - 6pm) & Saturday (9am - 5pm).
  • Muskegon Farmers Market - Saturday, 8am - 12pm.
  • Bronson Hospital (employees only) - Thursday afternoon.
  • Kalamazoo Winter Market - Still working on this.  Will let you know as soon as they have the details figured out.

Ready to sign up?  HERE is the link.

Any questions please let me know.
