Peppers are getting close to being ready, the purple bells are usually the first to be harvested, then green bells. We also have some sweet & hot varieties that will come in soon as well. Cherry tomatoes & eggplant shouldn't be far out either, and I am hoping we will see some new fruits hit the list soon, as strawberries have left the building for the season. I think overall we had a decent year on strawberries, I keep a log on what we harvested so I will be adding up those numbers and comparing to last season. Carrots coming in great so they will be available for a few more weeks, and we will likely see broccoli and cauliflower go away with all this heat. More to come, we are out in the fields getting everything we can done between rains!

About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
