Spring onions are getting close, hoping to be able to start harvesting in a week or two. The warm weather has really got things growing and even though it has been a bit hot, the plants are loving it and the ground is finally drying out. We should see some cooler Spring temps soon so I am hoping our last plantings of broccoli & cauliflower do okay. A lot of times if it gets too hot they will bolt and not ever produce nice heads. We do have some root crops coming up that look great and I am excited to see, shouldn't be too long on those. Squash and cucumbers will be getting planted this week with no frost forecasted in the near future.

About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
