Romanesco is coming in well and it is beautiful! My kids always call it Christmas trees when we cook it, as they eat it up better than most winter veggies. Weird weather patterns have made some things slow down and others seem to do better with it, but that's Louisiana weather for you. We have a good bit of Plaquemines Parish Oranges that we are bringing in, LA Sweet is a favorite orange variety of not only me but a lot of our Chefs as well. The other is the larger Naval orange, which my kids love to eat after school. I hope everyone is gearing up for the Holidays and New Year, it will be here before ya know it.

About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
