As much as I hate to see tomatoes go, I know we will be back planting them again soon. We had a decent run with these Fall tomatoes, but as you can see the cold got to them. We were lucky we didn't loose them in October when we got that early season frost, I could not cover them up because they were almost 8' tall, but some how they made it through that. We are still steady planting and keeping things growing good even with the frigid temps. We should start to see some more root crops and brassicas on the harvest list soon, strawberries as well! Planting onions next week, Spring will be here before you know it. I hope everyone enjoys Thanksgiving!

About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
