We are starting to harvest some shallots finally, they look great and I am excited to start cooking with them. I hope everyone is still enjoying their boxes, I feel like we have a good variety right now with some newer winter stuff but also some late summer/Fall stuff as well. We got all of our strawberry plants in the ground last week, next up on the planting horizon will be onions. The onion sets come from Dixondale Farms out of Texas, we will begin to plant them as soon as they arrive next week, for harvest in the Spring. Broccoli is getting close as well, hope to see some of it by next week.

About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
