Carrots are back! We will be harvesting some this weekend and they look great. A few other new items have made the list and some will be gone until next year, hate to see items go but that's farming. We will also be planting new potatoes soon, both red and Yukon golds. One thing I like about new potatoes is they have a high rate of germination success, (I call them bulletproof bc they always come up great) on the other hand once they do germinate you can lose them if you get too much rain. I have been refining my Spring farm plan and I am waiting for seeds to start coming in, it will be here before we know it! Stay safe and healthy!

About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
