Farm Happenings for November 6, 2021

Posted on November 3rd, 2021 by Grady Seale

Strawberry plants are starting to grow some, they really look rough when you first plant them. To the point where it makes me nervous about whether they will take or not, but they look great and I hope we will see some before Christmas. The weather we are having lately is ideal for everything we have planted, and I hope to see more of it because all of our crops are really thriving in it. Shallots are getting close, along with some cabbage and broccoli. Before we know it Thanksgiving will be here and I am hoping we have all the popular varieties available. One negative impact with this cooler weather is that laying hens begin to molt and spend most of their energy on growing new feathers instead of producing eggs, so we are seeing a shortage. (Hopefully not for long) As always, eat your veggies and thanks for the support!
