Farm Happenings for December 14, 2020

FINALLY!! We are finally picking some carrots! One of my favorite crops to eat for sure, but also one of the hardest crops to grow! The hardest part about growing carrots (for me anyway) is getting them to germinate and have a good stand in each plot. Soil temperatures need to be in the 60 to 75 degree range for best results, but when the soil is on the warm side you also battle the weeds, which can shade out the carrots and make it a real pain to harvest. I hope everyone enjoys them and the rest of your items!
