Farm Happenings for November 30, 2020

Posted on November 28th, 2020 by Grady Seale

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We sure are thankful for all of your support, without yall we would have had to shut the farm down! We got plenty of rain after the holiday and its looking like we will be getting our first freeze of the season next week. We will be covering as much as we can on Monday, mainly small/young plants because they are the most vulnerable.  This also means we will lose tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, okra, and most flowers. (Because these crops are older and about played out we won't cover them, if my tomatoes were in better shape they would be the first thing covered!) I feel like we made good run this year before losing these things, sometimes we get frost in September/October! We should be picking a few beets (Chioggia or Candy Striped pictured) towards the end of next week!
